Partner School

Partner schools will receive bespoke support from one of our trained Literacy Specialists, who will help schools to provide excellent teaching in phonics and early language.  Our Literacy Specialists will focus on supporting the slowest progress children in Reception and Key Stage 1, to help ensure that every child is successful, regardless of their ability, background or needs.

As part of this support, partner schools will receive between 3-12 visits from a Literacy Specialist over the duration of the programme.  Visits will focus on how to improve data, resources, observe phonics teaching and plan how to support children to make progress.  Our trained Literacy Specialists will also work closely with the school's reading leader, using the audit report to help make improvements to their reading provisions. All teaching staff will also receive coaching to improve their knowledge, skills and confidence in delivering phonics lessons with their chosen Systematic Synthetic Phonics scheme.

Partner schools will be invited to attend free CPD training sessions, offered by the St John Bosco English Hub and other institutions. Funding will be available if the school meet the DfE criteria.
